The Dallas Cotton Belt Employees Credit Union is
committed to making available financial products and services that will enable
it members to meet their financial needs and reach their
financial goals, while at the same time protecting their personal
non-pubic information. To ensure
that the Credit Union maintains physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards
that comply with federal regulations for guarding the membership’s nonpublic
personal information, the Board of
Directors has adopted the following Privacy Policy.

that is necessary to conduct our business.
This means just what is necessary to provide competitive financial
products and services to the membership and no more.

Cotton Belt Employee’s Credit Union will protect its memberships’ personal
information.
The credit union will maintain strong security controls to ensure that
member information in the files and computers is well protected.
Where and when appropriate, security coding techniques may be used to
protect against unauthorized access to personal records, ensure accuracy and
integrity of communications and transactions, and protect member confidentially.

Membership of Dallas Cotton Belt Employee’s Credit Union will always have
access to their personal information.
Members of the credit union will always have the opportunity to review
their account information and make necessary changes to ensure that the credit
union’s records are complete and
accurate.

Cotton Belt Employee’s Credit Union will only share information when
absolutely necessary.
The credit union will only share information to administer the products
and services that it provides, when required to do so by the government, or when
we partner with other businesses to offer a broader array of products and
services.

Cotton Belt Employee’s Credit Union will partner only with businesses that
follow strict confidentiality
requirements. The
businesses the credit union select will offer products designed to enhance our
members’ economic well being. Under
no circumstances will the credit union authorize these firms to charge a
member’s account without the member’s express consent, and we will not sell
member information to telemarketing firms.

Cotton Belt Employee’s Credit Union will offer its member’s a choice in how
their information is used.
Any member of the credit union may elect to keep information from being
shared with any of the credit union’s business partners.
Membership will be informed on how to exercise their choices, and the
credit union will take all reasonable steps to make sure the requests are
followed. At least once a year the
credit union will remind the
membership of their right to choose.
INFORMATION THE
CREDIT UNION COLLECTS
The Credit Union collects information about its members from the
following sources:
1.
Information received on applications and other forms.
2.
Information about transactions with others or us.
3.
Information received from a credit-reporting agency.
4.
Information obtained when verifying the information provided on an
application or other forms. This
may be obtained from your current or past employers, or from other institutions
where you conduct financial transactions.
PARTIES WHO RECEIVE
INFORMATION FROM THE CREDIT UNION
The Credit Union may disclose nonpublic personal
information about its members to the following types of third parties:
1.
Financial companies, such as insurance companies and mortgage service
companies.
2.
Non-financial companies, such as, consumer reporting agencies and
retailers
DISCLOSURE
OF INFORMATION TO PARTIES THAT PROVIDE SERVICES TO THE CREDIT UNION
The Credit Union may disclose all the information it
collects, as described above to the companies that perform marketing or other
services on the credit union’s behalf or to other financial institutions with
whom we have a joint marketing agreement. The
Credit Union will only work with companies who agree to maintain strong
confidentiality protections and will limit the use of the information that we
provide. The credit union may also
disclose information about the membership under other circumstances as permitted
or required by law. These
disclosures typically include information to process transactions on the members
behalf, conduct the operations of the credit union, or follow a members
instructions as authorized, or
protect the security of our financial records.
DISCLOSURE
OF INFORMATION ABOUT FORMER MEMBERS
If a member decides to terminate their membership with Dallas Cotton Belt
Employees Credit Union, the credit union will not share information it has
collected about this member, except as may be permitted or required by law.
HOW TO
STOP OR “OPT OUT” OF CERTAIN DISCLOSURES
If a member prefers that we
do not disclose nonpublic personal information about them to nonaffiliated third
parties, they may opt out of these disclosures, that is, they may direct the
credit union not to make those disclosures (other than disclosures permitted by
law). To opt out of disclosures to
nonaffiliated third parties, a member may do so by one of the following:

Mail a request to the credit union office.
Non member joint account holders’, co-borrowers and
guarantors may also exercise this right to opt out. For joint account holders, the credit union will treat an
opt-out request as applying to everyone listed on the account unless member
directs us otherwise.
